Apply for funding to deploy electric terminal trucks from Orange EV.
Metropolitan Energy Center will use up to $550,000 from its demonstration project, Award DE-EE0008887, ‘Orange EV: Electrifying Terminal Electric Trucks in Unincentivized Markets,’ to deploy terminal electric trucks in unincentivized markets. Preferred markets are Kansas and Missouri, followed by Iowa and Nebraska, followed by the rest of the U.S. Applications for deployment outside KS, MO, IA and NE must demonstrate their deployment market has no state or local incentives for electric trucks (excluding potential state-based incentives through the VW Environmental Mitigation Trust). Only electric terminal tractors manufactured by Orange EV (orangeev.com) are eligible for reimbursement under the terms of this demonstration project.
This is a reimbursement program. After MEC approves projects for Award, applicants must purchase the new vehicle and fulfill all program requirements. Upon MEC staff site visit following truck deployment and submission of required documentation, the applicant will receive reimbursement for the amount specified in the Award. The maximum amount of funding applicants may request through this opportunity is $330,000.
