EV WATTS: Electric Vehicle Data Sharing

Clean Cities Coalitions across the country have partnered with Energetics to collect real-world use data from fleets and individual owners. EV WATTS (Electric Vehicle Widespread Analysis for Tomorrow’s Transportation Solutions) is a nationwide project to create an anonymized database of electric vehicle information, drawing from fleets, charging infrastructure, and individual owners. You can participate by signing up to share your vehicle data.

Both Kansas City Regional and Central Kansas coalitions are working with Energetics to collect data. This data will inform future projects for EV outreach, dealership engagement, and infrastructure augmentation in Kansas and Missouri, and across the country. With widespread electrification becoming more necessary to address the transportation sector’s growing impact on greenhouse gas emissions, data collected in this project will be vital for showing just how feasible the transition to an electric vehicle can be.

Participation is simple. Energetics will professionally install a telematics device in your vehicle that will collect anonymized data on charging and driving patterns. These devices will then be removed after 12-18 months, leaving no impact on your vehicle.

In addition to providing invaluable data to promote EV adoption, there are benefits for you as a driver! Upon the project’s completion, you will receive a personalized package outlining your vehicle’s charging and driving patterns.

Again, all data collected by the telematics device will be completely anonymized. You can view the official Data Sharing Agreement here. After reading the agreement, if you decide that you would like to participate in this project or you have any questions, please email Miriam Bouallegue.
