SUMMARY:MEC Open House
DESCRIPTION:As you all know\, 2018 was a big year for MEC! Among the many exciting (but\, in some ways\, bittersweet) changes included moving locations to a nonprofit co-working space. Although we are sad to say goodbye to a building that gave us so many memories\, we are proud to share a space with fellow nonprofits in the Kansas City community who are doing excellent work. Best of all\, this allows us to take our sustainability mission to a whole new level by sharing energy use with our friendly new neighbors and reducing our overall carbon footprint. \nWe’ll provide light snacks\, beer\, and wine. We are excited to get the new year started and show you all where we will be working on our Clean Transportation and Energy Efficiency projects!  The event is free\, but please RSVP through our Eventbrite page.  We can’t wait to see you all!

SUMMARY:Energy Solutions Hub: Speed Greening
DESCRIPTION:In the energy efficiency equivalent of speed dating\, visit with your choice of energy solution vendors. How does it work? Choose several speed greening table hosts you want to meet. At each table of 6-8 people\, your table host may give a short pitch or jump into round-table introductions. You’ll have about 30 seconds to introduce yourself and your problem statement\, you’ll learn some things\, then move on to the next table. \nThere will be plenty of time for general networking and refreshments to wet your whistle. \nThe Energy Solutions Hub works with small to medium sized business owners\, manufacturers\, municipals\, and multi-family homes\, and our goal is to cut energy use in KC by 4 percent in the next 2 years. This would save over $40 million annually in consumer energy costs\, and offset the equivalent amount of CO2 to burning 37 million gallons of gasoline. \nCome meet the team behind the program and and your fellow community members. \nQuestions:  Sara@metroenergy.org
