One World. One Future: Powered by People

An Earth Month Campaign by Metropolitan Energy Center

In every era, people have shaped the future by how they use energy. From wind towers in ancient Persia to smart grids in today’s cities, the choices we make—large and small—echo across generations.

This Earth Month, Metropolitan Energy Center invites you to be part of that legacy. For over 40 years, MEC has helped communities across Kansas and Missouri save energy, lower costs, and build a more just and sustainable future. We teach. We train. We show up. And we help people turn climate concern into real-world change.

Now, we’re calling on our community to keep this work alive and growing.

One World. One Future: Powered by People is our rallying call—a month-long campaign blending storytelling, on-the-ground action, and grassroots generosity. Our goal: raise $5,000 to keep MEC nimble, responsive, and community-focused in the year ahead.

Your support sustains:

  • Neighborhood energy workshops and weatherization kit delivery
  • Clean transportation coalitions and climate workforce training
  • Strategic partnerships and new program development
  • The core team doing the daily work to move the region forward
