Community workshops, education, and advocacy are the heart of MEC. At our Project Living Proof (PLP) demonstration home, a Kansas City treasure, community members can access information and resources to make their homes more energy efficient, learn about urban gardening and water conservation. PLP also benefits the Kansas City area by hosting a variety of community, artistic, and academic events.

Project Living Proof isn’t just about the inside – it’s about the outside of the house as well. In this presentation, David Albrecht of MEC will meet with Yvonne Jenkin of the Greater Kansas City Master Gardeners and members of her team who’ve turned the back and front yards of PLP into vegetable, herb, fruit and native plant gardens. Along with training aspiring master gardeners, these gardens also support local food banks with fresh vegetables and fruit – while supporting bees and native pollinators.
