Financial Consultant:

• Make recommendations for the pipeline of projects and help prioritize which of the projects are best for the public-private plan (PPP). (in a financial sense, like consulting on which proposed projects lend better to PPP financing, and tips for structuring said financing, etc.)
• Make recommendations for public-private financing in Douglas County, based on the projects.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings where projects are being discussed, and make recommendations for financial institutions that should be present in discussions.
• Facilitate conversations with stakeholders about the types of public-private partnerships that could work in Douglas County.

Clean Energy Consultant:

• Identify appropriate stakeholders. For example, those could include businesses with an interest in local clean energy and energy efficiency projects, financial institutions who might be interested in discussing public-private partnership arrangements, housing developers, housing nonprofits, representatives from Evergy, and others who serve the community. We have a great start to this list but could use help tightening it up and making sure we have all of the right people at the table.
• Participate in conversations with the stakeholders about the types of public-private partnerships that could work in Douglas County.
• Make recommendations for the pipeline of projects and help prioritize which of the projects are best for the PPP.
• Identify energy efficiency measures that are especially helpful at reducing the energy burden in buildings in our climate. This could include affordable multifamily buildings, churches that have shelters and other types of community centers, rental properties, and government facilities.
• Assist with identifying barriers to distributed generation and community solar.

While Douglas County is part of a different MPO, our Sustainability staff do attend CAKC events and workshops and is open to collaborating on regional climate-related goals.
