Outreach, Education, and Performance Tracking (OEPT) is the foundation of Kansas City Clean Cities. Funded through the U.S. Department of Energy’s Vehicle Technologies Office, OEPT powers MEC’s Sustainable Transportation work—connecting fleets, schools, businesses and cities with cleaner, smarter energy solutions.
In 2023 alone, Kansas City Clean Cities:
Cut 46,960 tons of CO₂
Saved 6.6 million gallons of gasoline
Helped convert 331 vehicles to alternative fuels
Since 1998, these efforts have benefited tens of thousands of people and organizations directly—and hundreds of thousands more indirectly.
OEPT ensures Kansas City Clean Cities can keep driving progress in sustainable transportation. With continued support, we’ll expand outreach across the metro, Missouri, and Kansas—creating healthier air, stronger economies, and more equitable access to clean transportation.
